Enjoy yourself and stay distracted. Find other people who have tinnitus. Finding an online support group will give you interaction and support from people who also suffer with tinnitus. Millions of men and women of all ages are affected with tinnitus; why not make the most of it and learn from others who have been in your shoes? Never swim without earplugs if you are afflicted with tinnitus. Swimming can lead to water entering the ear canal, and that can worsen tinnitus symptoms. Wearing ear plugs while showering can also prove beneficial.
Get outside as much as possible. Being active will help you relax, and the fresh air will be good for you. Mentally monitor how your tinnitus reacts to being outside. See if any sounds around you mix with your tinnitus to make you uncomfortable. It may help to actually list sounds that aggravate your tinnitus. That way you can be sure and try to avoid them in the future.
